Larne held to goalless draw at Coleraine
Larne's away match at Coleraine ended in a goalless draw, with both teams creating chances but failing to score. Coleraine manager Ruaidhri Higgins was content with his side's performance, despite feeling they should have taken the lead.
What happened?
The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating opportunities but failing to capitalize on them. Larne's goalkeeper Rohan Ferguson made several key saves to keep his team in the game, while Coleraine's Lewis Webb was equally impressive at the other end.
Why it matters for Larne
The draw was a decent result for Larne, who will be pleased to have taken a point from a tough away match. However, they will be disappointed not to have taken the lead, particularly given the chances they created.
What comes next?
Larne's next fixture is against Crusaders FC at home on December 12, 2026. They will be looking to build on this result and move up the table.
Coleraine manager Ruaidhri Higgins was content with his side's performance, despite feeling they should have taken the lead. "I felt on chances over the course of the game and territory and set plays and all those types of things...I felt we probably edged it but we'll take the four points from the first two and move on," he said.
The Bannsiders have had issues with injuries at centre-half so far this season, with Aidan Wilson and Cameron Stewart both suffering setbacks. On McDonald, Higgins added: "We will get him scanned and see where it's at. You get Aidan (Wilson) back and then Rowan goes out...so it’s been a bit of a nightmare from that point of view in terms of the defensive part of the pitch."
