Larne FC's Thomas Maguire has signed a permanent deal with Crusaders after a successful loan spell with the club. Maguire, who joined Larne from Dungannon Swifts in January, played a key role in preserving Crusaders' Premiership status, scoring the winner in their 3-2 promotion/relegation play-off first-leg victory over Annagh United. The tie ultimately ended 4-4 on aggregate, with Crusaders winning on penalties. Maguire's impressive form during his loan spell has caught the attention of Crusaders, who have exercised their option to sign him permanently. The winger, who has also played for Cliftonville, Warrenpoint Town, and in America, has racked up 75 Premiership appearances for Dungannon Swifts and was an unused substitute in their historic Irish Cup win in 2025. Maguire expressed his delight at joining Crusaders permanently, stating that he felt at home at the club from the moment he arrived. He praised the players, staff, and supporters for making him feel welcome and is excited to be part of the team's future success. Crusaders manager Declan Caddell was also pleased to have secured Maguire's services, citing his quality and energy as key factors in the decision. The club has had a busy start to the summer transfer window, with Maguire joined by Graham Kelly and Scottish striker Aaron Reid.
